Re: Mr Alan Marco , aged 38
Thank you for seeing Mr Marco , who requires immediate assessment and management. He has been treated for external otitis media due to possible increased water activity , and hyperglycaemia due to infection or excess physical activity .
Mr Marco has complained of severe earache for five days. On assessment, his right ear has tenderness , hot while touching and external ear canal has swelling with redness. His tympanic membrane is pale green colour.
Mr Marco was treated with paracetamol , which was ineffective. Thus, his mild pain was managed with ibuprofen. He used cotton swabs while swimming and was flushed water inside the ear.
Mr Marco has history of type one diabetic melitus for which he is on insulin. His blood sugar was monitored regularly ;hence , review with his insulin therapy is benificial. Kindly provide immediate consultation and pain management for him.
